ARPIL: UPPER + LOWER BODY DISSOCIATION

Why Is Dissociation Important?

  • Better Communication: Leaders guide movements more clearly, and followers can interpret them more easily.
Improved Balance: Allows for sharper pivots and controlled turns.

  • Elegance & Expression: Adds fluidity and grace, making movements look effortless.

  • Prevents Over-Rotation: Helps dancers avoid unnecessary tension or losing their axis.
    Upper and lower

In tango, “upper and lower dissociation” refers to the body’s ability to move in a segmented, independent manner, particularly between the upper and lower body. This concept is crucial for achieving fluidity, precision, and connection in tango movements. Mastering dissociation is fundamental to dancing tango with precision, musicality, and deep connection.
